4. CONCEPT GENERATION - W-Div-Engg-Exploration-Odd-2026-27/Repo-03 GitHub Wiki

4.1 ESTABLISHING FUNCTIONS

In the Concept Generation phase, the basic functions identified during problem definition are expanded into precise functional descriptions. Establishing these detailed functions defines the inputs, processing actions, and expected outputs required across all system subsystems (Sensing, Control, Actuation, Power, and User Interface). This forms a clear framework for generating individual concepts and constructing the Function Tree.

Sl. No. Subsystem / Functional Module Function Name Input Signal / Energy Process / Action Output Result / Energy
1 User Interaction Audio Processing & Response User Voice Command Capture audio, parse command using speech module Audio response / Confirmation sound
2 Information Display Visual Feedback Data from Microcontroller Format time, alerts, and system state onto display Visual text / Graphics on screen
3 Mobility & Drive Motion Execution PWM Motor Control Signals Convert electrical energy into controlled mechanical rotation Wheel movement / Multi-directional travel
4 Environment Sensing Obstacle & Edge Detection Ultrasonic / IR Sensor Echoes Measure distance to surrounding objects and desk boundaries Distance data / Stop trigger signal
5 Alert & Notification Sound Signaling Trigger Signal from Controller Activate piezo buzzer at specified frequencies Audible alarm / Beep pattern
6 Control & Processing Central Logic Execution Raw Sensor Inputs & Voice Data Execute state machine algorithm and issue actuator commands Control signals to motors & display
7 Wireless Communication Remote Data Reception Wireless Radio Signals (BT/Wi-Fi) Decode received packet data and forward to main controller System updates / Command parameters
8 Power Management Voltage Regulation Unregulated Battery Voltage Step-down and regulate voltage to stable 5V / 3.3V power rails Regulated DC power to all modules
