Research Question

How does changing to an electric car impact your parking availability in Amsterdam?

• How many parking spots are there in Amsterdam?
• How many charging points are available in Amsterdam?
• How many of the handicapped parking spots include a charging point?

I tried to search for data that shows the amount of handicapped parking spots. Sadly no data set on RDW or Data.Amsterdam contained the data that I needed. Therefore I've decided to slightly change my research question and drew a new sketch so I can still make a nice visualization.

How many charging points do parking garages have in comparison to parking spots in different towns and cities in The Netherlands?

• How many parking garage spots are there per city or town?
• How many charging points are available in parking garages in a city or town?

To visualize this I've created a lollypop chart. In this lollypop chart I'm showing how many charging points there are, and how many normal parking spots there are. I also want to add the ability to switch between cities and towns, to clearly see a difference in parking spots.

I then got the idea to be able to turn of parking spots or charging poles because there is just too big of a difference between the amount of parking spots and the amount of charging poles. If you were to hover over a city it will show a tooltip with the exact amount of parking spots and charging points.

I also thought It'd be interesting to show the amount of charging poles per parking spot per city/town.
