Numbering versions of the installation package:

We use the BSD UNIX numbering system (like FreeBSD UNIX):

J.M.B.R-V, where:

  • J - the highest version digit, changes when making fundamental changes to the setup algorithm;
  • M - the lower digit of the version, changes when the series of algorithms is changed;
  • B - the algorithm's algorithm, changes when the algorithm changes within the series;
  • R - revision, changes when minor changes are made to the algorithm, for example, the file is added or deleted, but the general logic of the algorithm has not changed;
  • V - the build option, the logic did not change, but individual files were updated. It changes only if the hash of the commit is not updated in Git repository of Far Manager. When you change it, it is reset to "1".

New. Added since b5171 Git-c224fa8f5:

In the Product Version field of the Setup, Addon and Update programs, the product version number is displayed as:

M.J bB Git-H, where:

  • M.J - the hight digits of the version of Far Manager (Minor.Major)
  • B - the number of the Far Manager assembly on the basis of which this version of FarUE3
  • H - is the shortened hash of the Far Manager source code, based on which this release of FarUE3 is compiled.
