Valheim 1.0 FAQ - Valheim-Modding/Wiki GitHub Wiki

Can I play 1.0 with my current mods?
Likely not. There were some breaking changes that are affecting some mods. There is a chance that some mods will not need updates, but this will be on a case by case basis. The more mods you have the greater likelihood that you will have an issue lurking in your list.
When will mods be updated?
Every author will have different availability. Some will only need a handful of days to push updates, others may need a few months. If you are waiting on specific mods to update find that author's contact (likely a discord) and look for their announcements on progress.
How can I get the old game version?
In Steam go to the Properties (Settings) for Valhiem, find the "Game Version & Betas" tab, select default_pre1_0, wait for the game to update. You can see what version of valheim launches on the main screen. Check it is 0.221.12 from February 19th (NOT the 2nd!).
Can I stay on the old game version?
Yes, be sure NOT to update any mods as they are not always backwards compatible. Make sure all your mods were published before September 9th to avoid issues.
Does Bepinex still work?
Yes the old pack still loads. However, there was an update to the pack made for Valheim so be sure to update to that! Authors will start compiling against the newer version.
Can I play modded and get Steam Achievements?
Maybe? Achievements are blocked when you are cheating with devcommands, but they also appear blocked when starting the game modded. There will likely be changes to how this work or mods to help get by this. Wait for more information.
You can play modded and get achievements (cheats are still disabled). The following mods add support for that.
Do I still need Sears Catalog?
Nope! The game update now includes this feature and some other nice QOL changes. Fancy that.
