Welcome to the AnnounceMints wiki! Monika was kind enough to give us some starting point:
General Requirements
- All submissions are reviewed and edited, if necessary, to fit the format and tone of the listserv (admin function for back-end user)
- Submissions may be approved or denied if submission criteria are not met (admin)
- Submissions are sorted into five categories, based on content:
- Events
- Administrative announcements
- Jobs
- Volunteers and research participants sought
- Formatting and content presentation should be consistent and predictable across all postings
- Events should be listed in chronological order in compiled posting; list other announcements by first-time posting first, then second-time, then third, within each category respectively
- Postings may include embedded hyperlinks but not attachments
Answers to some other previously posed questions
We do not need validation of enrollment status, though occasionally I manually check enrollment if a request seems to be out of line.
Also, to answer your question from yesterday, embedded links from the "table of contents" list to the items themselves as well as links within the items for more information would be super useful. I would say no to attachments, and the final formatting should probably also be free from much random embellishment (I wouldn't want people to pick their own font and color and whatnots for their individual posting items). While there is always a desire to highlight one item over another, there isn't a way to justly decide what to highlight, so it seems best to not highlight any.
