My robot is currently on Library v1.0. Should I update?
NO! Updating will kill your CAD. Wait until you start a new project before updating.
I get an error when I place shafts?
Installing the patch fixes this issue. But if you donβt have the patch, this is how you fix it.
Shafts were also made into
iParts
to make it easier for the user to quickly select a length of shaft without having to create the length manually. The default path for the shaft to save to gives Inventor errors though.
When you place a shaft, you should see a file directory to the right of
Browse
. If that directory saysbin
in it, then you will get an error when placing the shaft. ClickBrowse
and find your current project folder, and openDrive Shafts
in the Library. Make this the directory for shafts to save to.
When you are typing in a length of a shaft, you need to put
in
after it. The default for them is currentlymm
, so typing3
will get you a pretty tiny shaft. If you want a 3" shaft, you'd type3 in
.
Why is there only one size of every spacer?
Spacers are now
iParts
. This addition to v1.1 will make it easier for the user to select their spacer, as they don't have to scroll to find the size they need. Just select the OD you are looking for. When you place it, a window will appear prompting you to select the size of the spacer.
