Player Guide - Ubivis/AIDungeon-Wiki GitHub Wiki
Welcome to the AIDungeon player guide! This section contains everything you need to know about exploring the AI-generated dungeons in your Minecraft server.
AI Dungeons are unique, procedurally generated structures that appear throughout the Minecraft world. Unlike traditional Minecraft structures, each AI Dungeon is:
- Unique: Generated specifically for your server's world
- Biome-themed: Dungeons in desert biomes will have a different theme than those in forests
- Dynamic: Dungeons track your exploration progress and can collapse after being fully explored
- Challenging: Each dungeon features a unique boss with special abilities
- Finding Dungeons - How to locate AI Dungeons in the world
- Dungeon Exploration Guide - Tips for exploring dungeons
- Boss Battles - Information about dungeon bosses and how to defeat them
- Rewards and Loot - What treasures you can find in dungeons
- Player Commands - Commands available to players
- Discover: Find a dungeon entrance while exploring the world
- Explore: Navigate through uniquely designed rooms
- Find treasure: Discover treasure rooms with valuable loot
- Defeat the boss: Each dungeon has a powerful boss with special abilities
- Escape: After a dungeon is fully explored, it may begin to collapse
Remember that dungeons track your exploration progress. The more of the dungeon you explore, the closer it gets to being "complete." Some servers may configure dungeons to collapse after they've been fully explored, so make sure to grab all the loot before that happens!
All player commands start with /aidungeon or the shorter /aid:
-
/aid list- List all discovered dungeons -
/aid info <dungeonId>- Show information about a specific dungeon
For a full list of available commands, see the Player Commands page.
Happy exploring!
This guide covers everything you need to know about exploring AI Dungeons in your Minecraft world.
AI Dungeons typically consist of several room types connected together:
- Serves as the entry point to the dungeon
- Usually clearly visible from the outside world
- Often has a distinctive architecture matching the dungeon theme
- Connect different rooms together
- May contain minor decoration or small obstacles
- Watch for traps in narrow passages!
- Contain chests with valuable loot
- Often smaller than other room types
- May be hidden behind puzzles or obstacles
- Contain hazards like pressure plates, tripwires, or falls
- Move carefully and watch your step
- Look for visual clues that hint at the trap mechanism
- Contain logic puzzles or environmental challenges
- Solving them often unlocks new areas or special rewards
- Look for patterns or clues in the room design
- Larger chambers containing the dungeon's boss
- Often located at the deepest point of the dungeon
- May have environmental hazards or special features
Before entering a dungeon, make sure you:
- Bring combat equipment (armor, weapons, bow, etc.)
- Pack plenty of food
- Bring torches or other light sources
- Have empty inventory slots for loot
- Consider bringing potions (healing, fire resistance, etc.)
- Tell friends where you're going (or bring them along!)
- Light your path as you go to mark explored areas
- Watch for mob spawners embedded in walls or floors
- Check walls for hidden passages by mining suspicious blocks
- Keep track of your entrance point so you can escape quickly if needed
- Look for signs of treasure rooms (decorative blocks, changes in materials)
- Check each room thoroughly for hidden chests
- Break pot decorations as they might contain items
- Look behind stair blocks or other decorations for hidden storage
- Higher difficulty dungeons tend to have better loot
The plugin tracks which rooms you've explored. You can see your exploration percentage for a dungeon with:
/aid info <dungeonId>
A room is considered "explored" when you enter it and stay for a few moments. You'll often see a chat message confirming when you've discovered a new room type.
Once a dungeon is fully explored (and the boss is defeated on some servers), it may begin a "collapse" sequence:
- You'll receive a warning message in chat
- You'll have a limited time (typically 60 seconds) to escape
- Any players remaining in the dungeon when time runs out will be teleported to the surface
- The dungeon structure will gradually return to natural terrain
This collapse feature (if enabled by the server admin) ensures that the world doesn't become cluttered with explored dungeons, and encourages players to find new, unexplored dungeons.
Dungeons can have varying difficulty depending on:
- Biome type (some biomes have harder dungeons)
- Distance from spawn (further = harder)
- Server configuration
The difficulty affects:
- Mob strength
- Boss abilities and health
- Trap damage
- Loot quality
Dungeons are perfect for team exploration:
- Multiple players can explore different sections simultaneously
- Boss fights are often easier with a team
- Players who participate in boss kills get shared rewards
- Exploration progress is tracked individually for each player
Communication is key when exploring with a team. Consider using a voice chat system or the in-game chat to coordinate your movements.
Every AI Dungeon contains a challenging boss battle as its ultimate challenge. This guide will help you prepare for and win these exciting encounters.
- Each dungeon has a unique boss with different abilities
- Bosses are thematically matched to their dungeon and biome
- Bosses have significantly more health than normal mobs
- Bosses may have special abilities and attack patterns
- Defeating a boss offers substantial rewards
Boss rooms typically have these characteristics:
- Larger than other dungeon rooms
- Located at the deepest part of the dungeon
- May have distinctive decorations or architecture
- Often have a central platform or arena-like design
- May contain mob spawners or hazards
When you enter a boss room, you'll receive a chat notification alerting you to the danger ahead.
Depending on the boss, you might encounter these abilities:
- Boss can teleport around the room
- Watch for particles indicating teleport destinations
- Be ready to shift your aim quickly
- Boss can spawn additional minion mobs
- Prioritize clearing minions to avoid being overwhelmed
- Area of effect weapons/potions are very effective
- Boss damages nearby players and can set them on fire
- Keep your distance when possible
- Bring fire resistance potions
- Boss moves faster than normal mobs
- Can make hit-and-run attacks difficult
- Use speed potions to match their pace
- Boss takes reduced damage from certain attack types
- Experiment with different weapons
- Look for visual cues about weaknesses
- Boss can heal over time
- Maintain consistent damage output
- Critical hits and enchanted weapons are important
Before challenging a boss, make sure you:
- Have full or nearly full health
- Are wearing your best armor
- Have your strongest weapons ready
- Bring plenty of food
- Have healing potions
- Clear the surrounding rooms of mobs
- Have an escape route planned
- Consider bringing friends for support
Different biomes feature thematically appropriate bosses:
- Ancient Pharaoh: Uses sandstorm attacks and summons minions
- Desert Golem: High defense but slow movement
- Scorpion Guardian: Poisonous attacks with high mobility
- Forest Spirit: Can blend with surroundings and ambush
- Woodland Archer: Ranged attacks from various positions
- Mystic Treant: Slow but very high health and damage
- Mountain Warden: Can cause rock falls and tremors
- Rocky Elemental: High defense, vulnerable to pickaxes
- Alpine Warrior: Uses jump attacks and ice abilities
- Swamp Witch: Casts negative potion effects
- Marsh Creature: Can pull players and has poison attacks
- Swamp Elder: Summons minions and has regeneration
- Enter carefully and assess the room
- Engage from maximum effective range
- Circle strafe to avoid direct attacks
- Focus on dodging special abilities
- Use terrain for cover when possible
- Save health/regen potions for emergencies
- Don't get cornered
- Assign roles (tank, damage dealer, support)
- Spread out to avoid area attacks
- Call out boss abilities and movements
- Have at least one player focus on clearing minions
- Coordinate potion and food usage
- Revive fallen teammates when possible
Defeating a boss grants:
- Substantial experience points (typically 500+)
- Special loot drops unique to that boss type
- Completion credit for the dungeon
- Server-wide announcement of your victory (on some servers)
Players who participate in the boss fight (even if not landing the killing blow) also receive scaled rewards based on their contribution.
On most servers, bosses do not respawn once defeated. The dungeon may begin its collapse sequence after the boss is defeated and the dungeon is fully explored. Check with your server administrator about specific boss respawn mechanics if you're unsure.
AI Dungeons are dynamically generated throughout your Minecraft world. This guide will help you find these exciting structures.
Dungeons are generated based on several factors:
- Biome type: Different biomes have different generation rates
- Proximity to other dungeons: Dungeons won't spawn too close together
- Player activity: Dungeons may generate in areas players have explored
- Server settings: Admins can configure spawn frequency and conditions
The plugin scans for suitable locations periodically and during specific times configured by the server admin.
The most common way to find dungeons is through natural exploration:
- Explore new areas: Dungeons may spawn in newly explored chunks
- Look for distinctive entrances: Each dungeon theme has a recognizable entrance
- Check promising terrain features: Dungeons often spawn near interesting terrain formations
- Explore multiple biomes: Different biomes have different dungeon themes
Dungeon entrances vary by biome and theme but generally:
- Are partially embedded into terrain
- Have distinctive architecture
- Use blocks that stand out from natural terrain
- May have decorative elements like pillars or statues
- Sometimes have particle effects visible from a distance
- Sandstone structures
- Pyramid entrances
- Temple doorways with pillars
- Hieroglyphic decorations
- Overgrown stone ruins
- Ancient tree structures
- Moss-covered entranceways
- Wooden and cobblestone combinations
- Cave entrances with carved stone
- Mine shafts with support beams
- Dwarven stone doorways
- Crystal formations around the entrance
- Partially submerged stone structures
- Twisted root entrances
- Mushroom-adorned doorways
- Mossy brick formations
The plugin provides commands to help you find dungeons:
/aid list
This command lists all discovered dungeons, showing their:
- ID number
- Theme
- Status (Active, Explored, Collapsing, Collapsed)
- Location coordinates
You can then teleport to a dungeon's location (if allowed on your server) or travel there manually.
When looking for dungeons to explore, pay attention to their status:
- Active: Ready to be explored
- Explored: Has been fully explored but still exists in the world
- Collapsing: Currently in the process of collapse - not safe to enter!
- Collapsed: Has been removed from the world
You'll typically want to seek out "Active" dungeons for a full exploration experience.
Some servers may configure special loot in dungeons that includes maps to other dungeons. If you find one of these treasure maps, it will lead you to another dungeon entrance.
- Cover new ground: Dungeons spawn more frequently in newly explored areas
- Different biomes = different dungeons: Explore diverse biomes for variety
- Look for unusual structures: Dungeon entrances are designed to be noticeable
- Higher view points: Climb mountains or build towers to spot dungeons from afar
- Nighttime searching: Some dungeon entrances have subtle lighting that's more visible at night
- Talk to other players: Share dungeon locations with the community
- Regular explorations: New dungeons may generate over time, so keep exploring!
The number of dungeons that can spawn in an area is limited by the server configuration. Typically, dungeons must be at least 500 blocks apart (by default), and there's a maximum number of dungeons per region.
This means that if you're struggling to find dungeons, try exploring further from spawn or in less-visited areas of the map where fewer dungeons have been generated.
If you're near a dungeon location when the server tries to generate it, the generation will be postponed. This is to prevent players from seeing the generation process, which might break immersion.
The server will mark these locations for later generation when no players are nearby, so check back in areas you've explored previously - new dungeons might have appeared!

- Custom loot tables
- Economy integration (money rewards)
- Server-specific unique items
- Special cosmetic rewards
Check with your server administrators to learn about any custom loot that might be available in your server's dungeons.
It's important to note that if a dungeon begins to collapse, any uncollected loot will be lost forever. Always make sure to thoroughly search a dungeon before completing its exploration if the server has dungeon collapse enabled.
Some dungeon rewards are excellent trading items with other players. Rare or unique dungeon loot can be a valuable currency in player economies, so consider keeping duplicates of rare finds for trading purposes.
