How to install plugin - UU-cellbiology/BigTrace GitHub Wiki

To use this plugin, you would need to install the latest version of FIJI on your computer first (and update it).
BigTrace works both with Fiji-stable and Fiji-latest, just choose one for your OS.

Important note (2026 Apr 22)

BigTrace moved to its own update site (see below, starting from 0.9.0),
which is now listed in the FIJI's update/plugins/extensions window.
To keep receiving updates, please follow the instructions below.
Starting from the next release, BigTrace will be removed from the old update site (Ekatrukha).

The recommended way to install the plugin in FIJI is to add the BigTrace update site:

• Open FIJI and go to Help -> Update in the menu
• Click [ Manage Update Sites ]
• Scroll down to click the checkbox next to BigTrace
• Click [ Apply and Close ]
• Restart Fiji

The plugin should appear in Plugins > BigTrace X.X.X > ...

If this method somehow didn't work (only then), you can try an alternative option.
Download the zip file, extract, and copy a set of binary jar files from the latest release to the jar folder of FIJI.
