Oversees setting product vision, strategy and ensuring business side resources
Unblock resource issues for the team as needed
Jay Berg (OG&A), G&A Policy Analyst – Research, Product Owner
Plans sprints, manages the backlog, develops acceptance criteria for user stories / issues
reviews work against acceptance criteria and sign off on work completed as part of the Definition of Done (DoD)
Ensures that the needs of actual users are centered; coordinates collaboration with SMEs and user research participants

Pre-award: Convey technical risk, complexity, and sizing for ideas that the team identifies; Assess technical feasibility of solution options and communicate tradeoffs; Support infrastructure and platform decision-making; Coach and explain technical concepts to Product Team to help make decisions; Coach other USFS folks as appropriate
Post-award: Ensure a healthy DevSecOps pipeline; Review overall quality of technical solutions and recommend improvements; Review vendor code
Designers
Christine Bath (product design) and Melissa Braxton (UX, research, and design)
Pre-award: Work with the PO to come up with technically feasible options for meeting user needs and business priorities; Create conceptual design artifacts (e.g., mocks, WF models); Develop research protocols; Deliver training and coaching on human centered design and other best practices (e.g. design systems, accessibility)
Post-award: Review and help ensure the quality of vendor design work; Observe vendor design practices and offer guidance on areas for improvement; Ongoing coaching for USFS on research and design quality and how to see / address any red flags
