User Testing Plan Weapons - UQdeco2800/2022-studio-2 GitHub Wiki
Protocol Explanation
The aim of this user testing protocol is to gain a better understanding of how the users will perceive the functionality of the weapons we have designed. It is also important to consider how the weapons fit within the story of the game. Therefore, as part of the protocol the questions are aimed at assessing both the aesthetic of the weapon and the perceived qualities. This includes weight, damage and materials.
This user testing protocol adopts and interview style form of testing with a semi-structured format to allow flexibility within the interview. This leaves more room for the interviewer to collect additional qualitative data points and ask more probing questions.
Protocol Guide
Brief: Questions should be asked in an open ended way so to provide room for users to think around the concept freely and not be restricted to the design at hand. Dagger statistics should also be added and asked about. E.g. weight (out of 10 being highest), attack damage (out of 100), cooldown on attack (out of 10) Interviewees should have at least a basic understanding of games involving the chosen interviewed weapon. This is provide better background insight and understanding into the problems we are trying to resolve.
