User Testing
Survey
To gather feedback and suggestions for improvement regarding the visual indicator assets, a survey was created and distributed among peers of the studio - https://forms.gle/PD5YvZQoHjCmzq3h7
The purpose of this user test was purely on the aesthetics and visual design of the indicators, and how appropriate they are for the game's concept and theme. For that reason this survey in particular contains questions of the linear scale format, to get a better understanding of users' opinions on the design, as opposed to a binary-type question ('is this good or not' for example).
As mentioned before, some questions are formatted as linear scale questions - in particular the first and third questions. These are just to get a general idea of users' thoughts on how well designed the indicators are.

The second and fourth questions are the typical 'suggestions for improvement' questions, prompting the user to share their thoughts on how to improve the design. Again, this is to further understanding how to iterate upon the existing designs and in general make them better.

All users' responses trended to the positive echelon, with no responses below a rating of 4 in terms of appropriateness for the game. Suggestions for improvement include changing the colour to suit both levels, and adding more texture to the design. These are purely cosmetic changes, and therefore the actual structure and composition of the indicators themselves seem to be adequate.

Again, all users' responses were positive, and suggestions for improvement included adding more plumber related elements and adding texture to the design. Minor comments about the composition were made here (adding plumber related things to the design, which would integrate it better into the game), but mostly the suggestions are minute and texture-related, which are simple to implement.
Future Testing Plans
The design may be iterated upon in sprint 4, particularly implementing two different designs for the two different levels/menus. User testing will need to be conducted to determine whether users still identify the icons and their purpose regardless of colour scheme, and/or how users feel about the aesthetic and overall design. This will likely be in the form of a survey to studio members.
