Overview
In order to follow testing from sprint two, we are continuing with completing an initial user testing to judge the integration of our components within sprints 1 and 2. To further these tests, we will also be testing users on items relating to the attack animation pathings, buff animations as well as weapon looks within this sprint.

Background
At this current stage of the game, only melee weapons have been implemented allowing players to do damage to enemies and kill them as planned. However, in order to add more functionality to the game, the team thought it would be necessary for a projectile weapon to be implemented. This would enhance the player capabilities and allow for greater, more varying gameplay.
Aims & Objectives
- Attain user understanding on visual aspect of the plunger bow
- Improvements that could be made upon the bow to iterate the design
- How users think this bow should be attained
- Question about the necessity for a ‘Golden bow plunger’
- Rarity and damage in terms of a ‘boss item’
- How it could be created
- E.g. By chance? Given by NPC before final boss
- Attain knowledge on whether users think that this weapon should naturally incorporate any buffs
- E.g. slowness/blindness buff

Testing Approach
The testing approach we took as seen in the first section of this user testing document took the form of online google forms.
Google Forms
The following lays out the questions asked on the google forms:
- Previewing the above image, rate the similarity of how close it looks to a plunger bow. (1 - not even close, 5 - A lot like it)
- Is there anything that you think could be changed in terms of the bow design/ colour scheme? (This also includes the design and colour scheme of the plunger)
- Given the current state of the game, where there are only two levels, how do you think that this item should be acquired?

- Other
- Do you think that there should be a ‘Golden Bow Plunger’ that acts as an item needed to kill the final boss?
- If you answered yes to the above question, what do you think the damage should be?
- Following on from question 4, if you answered yes, how do you think that this item can be attained by players? (e.g. do players need to craft this golden plunger and then craft it together with the bow)
- Do you think that this bow plunger should naturally incorporate any buffs? (E.g. blinds enemies or makes enemies slowed)
User Testing Results
- Generic style and look of plunger bow was positively responded to
- Majority of individuals voted that it look identical to the bow plunger they had thought of
- In terms of design and colour scheme, overwhelming number 62.5% of individuals related the bow to a ‘fiery’ aspect
- Was not what was intended but rather a higher contrast between the bow and the plunger as depicted within the initial sketches
- If the bow was brown, didn’t seem to contrast a lot
- 62.5% of participants agreed with the weapon being craftable
- Ticket for collaboration was incorporated to provide crafting team with weapon image and details regarding materials needed to craft the basic plunger bow
- 62.5% of participants also agreed that this bow should also incorporate the use of a ‘boss weapon’
- Golden plunger bow used as a super rare weapon that could needed to be both crafted and picked up by NPC character to be created
- Damage to be relatively high but not completely ‘broken’
- 50% of individuals thought bow should incorporate a slowness effect
- Incorporation of slowness due to ‘blinding of poop’
Changes to be made from user testing
- A lot of individuals were commenting on the colour scheme of the bow being ‘fiery.’
- Colour of the bow had to be fine tuned slightly in order to make the bow more neutral and less likely to be seen as a ‘firey’ themed weapon
- Tuned the colour to become more brownish with a hint of orange
- String outline commented as possible area of confusion due to thick black outline
- Changed colour to become less obvious and more blended
- Lighter shade of black/dark grey to be utilsied
- Changed colour to become less obvious and more blended
- Smaller aesthetics of the weapon didn’t seem to look like what it was supposed to look like
- User commented on feathers of plunger being too big
- Idea was to emphasise that this was a full roll of toilet paper so utilised darker grey to make underside of toilet roll more obvious
