Overview
One-on-one design critique sessions with both simple and expert users of the game in order to receive a collectively more accurate and more holistic review of the designs itself. These critique sessions were a series of casual and relatively open-ended conversations in aim to gain unique and original insights where the user wouldn’t feel any obligation to form their answers a certain way.
User Testing Plan
Categories touched on to help guide the critique included:
- Design style
- Use of colour
- Functional appearance
- Object (entity) recognition
- Isometric implementation
- Professionalism
Plan:
- General introduction to the game
- Theme, storyline, objective
- View design asset
- Begin object design critique (start open ended)
- Prompt with categories
- Take notes during the conversation
- Final thoughts, any other comments?
