Overview

One-on-one design critique sessions with both simple and expert users of the game in order to receive a collectively more accurate and more holistic review of the designs itself. These critique sessions were a series of casual and relatively open-ended conversations in aim to gain unique and original insights where the user wouldn’t feel any obligation to form their answers a certain way.

User Testing Plan

Categories touched on to help guide the critique included:

  • Design style
  • Use of colour
  • Functional appearance
  • Object (entity) recognition
  • Isometric implementation
  • Professionalism

Plan:

  1. General introduction to the game
    • Theme, storyline, objective
  2. View design asset
    • Begin object design critique (start open ended)
    • Prompt with categories
    • Take notes during the conversation
  3. Final thoughts, any other comments?
