Sprint 3

Temple

Round 1

User Feedback Notes

  • Good use of colour
  • Add more shading
  • Add more texture to roof (stone-like)
  • Add 2-3 steps (height + makes it look more grand)

Changes for Next Design Iteration

  • Add more shading (1-2 colours per current solid colour or element)
  • Add stone-like texture to roof
  • Add 3 steps surrounding the Temple

Round 2

User Feedback Notes

  • Improvement, better shading
  • Might need a bit more dimension within elements itself (esp with solid colours)
  • Good spacing, proportional
  • Looks like a Greek worship temple
  • Designs on corner closest to eye are a bit mushed together —> separate
  • Good use of colour
  • Good use of shading
  • Good use of shape
  • More dimension needed with colours
    • add more detail and texture (material-wise, e.g. stone slabs) to roof
    • Add 1-2 more dimensional shades to roof
  • Less columns, make taller (I kind of like how it was proportionately before)

Changes for Next Design Iteration

  • Add one more shade of colour to each element
  • Reduce number of columns (5 on each side)
  • Add stone slab texture to the roof
  • Extend the height of the building columns (by 15 pixels)

Brick Wall

Round 1 (Sprint 1)

User Feedback Notes

  • Seems a bit flat and amateur
  • Looks like a castle top but not exactly a wall
  • Use of colour if a bit bright
    • Caution tape-like
  • Initially hard to distinguish that it is a wall
  • Add isometric design

Changes for Next Design Iteration

  • Make isometric
  • Change colour palette (more natural)
  • Re-design shape to be more recognisable as a wall

House

Round 1 (Sprint 2)

User Feedback Notes

  • Distinguished 3D effect
  • Add another plant to make the structure more detailed
  • The building itself lacks colour
  • The perspective effect is not accurate enough
  • Building exterior needs more detail

Changes for Next Design Iteration

  • Adjust the perspective
    • Straighten to 30 degrees
    • Make viewpoint higher so that the top of the roof is shown
  • Building facade changes
    • Add more colours (~ 3 shades of brown)
    • Add wooden texture (use straight vertical pixel lines with varying shades)

Round 2 (Sprint 2)

User Feedback Notes

  • Very easy to identify
  • Rich details and suitable colors
  • 3D perspective is fully considered
  • Suggestion: remove the black stroke
  • Suggestion: enlarge the size
  • Suggestion: consider the effect of the surrounding map

Changes for Next Design Iteration

  • Consider surrounding maps and add more land details (foliage, bushes, ivy)
  • Increased size for a larger footprint (covers 4 grid tiles)
