Welcome to the Atlantis Sinks Style Guide

The reason why this new style guide exists stems from the user testing session conducted by Team 15. The purpose of that testing session was to analyze what game aspects must be improved in order to make the game more coherent and pleasant to the player. However, based on the insights derived from the testing, it was evident that a lot of mistakes and design flaws exist in the game. Thus, the need to introduce a revised version of the style guide which would help solve our current design needs had to be introduced.

Who Can Use the Style Guide?

This style guide was designed by Team 15 in close collaboration with Team 10 and others. It is intended for designers, but we hope it would become helpful for others as well. This is the Atlantis Sinks style guide. It is here to help create a consistent design in the game. Please use it as a reference guide when you work on your task ticket. When thinking how to approach this, we tried to go beyond traditional typography and color palette points. Instead, we approached the content in such a way that it would be beneficial for both researchers, designers as well as coders. Think of it, as a collection of all resources under one roof you can adapt to maintain cohesion, consistency and balance in the game.

Before producing your design please ensure the following aspects:

What is the Main Purpose?

In conclusion, the purpose of the new style guide is not about introducing new color palette, a specific feature, or a button, but rather create an assistive documentation that would help other teams make the right choice in terms of consistency and cohesiveness:

  1. New designs have correct shading, are pixelated and maintain correct proportions
  2. Typography and colors of UI is properly aligned and consistent throughout the game
  3. New concepts are appropriate and have a strong connection to the main theme
