Map contents user testing plan sprint3 - UQdeco2800/2021-ext-studio-1 GitHub Wiki
Purpose of user testing
In sprint3, we have made up the content of contents, which makes them the improvement of gameplay. However, we need some user testing to ensure that this is effective and reasonable, while looking for drawbacks to improve it.
This includes testing the rationality of the frequency of content generation, the interactivity with other team features, and the degree of intuitive perception of the player.
Social platform for testing
- WeChat: Simulate the operation through video files for testers to carry out relevant tests
- Discord: Test with other team members (or those who have fully installed and learned the content needed for the course) to get professional feedback
- Google form: Randomly find testers, observe the operation of the sprint, and fill out the questionnaire to get feedback.
Testing questions form
Test tasks: We will time these interactive behaviors to know the user's use of the feature.
- Look for some map content that looks like an obstacle and should be avoided
- Interact with these contents, avoid them or bump into them.
- Try to "deliberately" consume one's own health value.
- To find out how to restore the value of life.
Test interview: We will get feedback from players through some indirect questions.
1. What is your opinion on the difficulty of the game during the test?
- This problem is mainly aimed at the frequency and numerical design of map content generation.
2. Do you think the operation is smooth during the test?
- This question is mainly about the visual effects obtained after different teams interact.
3. Do you think the game is easy to understand? In the context of the given fictional story, will you accept and substitute it into the virtual environment?
- This question tested whether the feature design of each independent content was successful and the graphic design.
4. What elements do you think can be added/removed in the game? Give reasons based on personal gaming experience.
- This question will be used to confirm whether there is a problem of overlapping functions in the contents of the current design. If so, we can consider retaining only the visual effects to save code.
5. Among the above tasks, which one do you think is the most difficult? What caused the difficulty?
- Use this question to get whether the feature is allocated in a reasonable position.
Extra question: We understand the gaps and outstanding points between our work and other peers through the players' overall perception of this project.
-
Have you ever played a game similar to "Ragnarok Racer"? How is their map contents different from ours?
-
(Based on the first question) If yes, how would you rate our map content generation and design?
-
How would you evaluate the artistic design and action aspects of map content?
What will we get in this user test
Frequency of content generation:
- We will adjust the frequency, value, or size based on feedback to ensure that this matches the game experience of most players
the Interactivity with other team features:
- We will think more actively about how to conduct more frequent interactions (active interactions or passively triggered interactions) to enrich the game's response to players' thoughts and actions
The degree of intuitive perception of the player:
- We will further adjust the graphic design, optimize the pictures and visual effects of the design, and the functionalities of the features connected by the corresponding visual effects, so as to ensure that the player will not be given a sense of intuition when playing.
