Tow carriage motion modeling and optimization

Virtual wave tank

Objective: Create and validate a numerical wave tank that will correctly predict motion of a floating model in the physical wave tank.

Requirements/deliverables

• Use OpenFOAM/waves2Foam's volume of fluid solvers
  • Modify a solver to allow dynamic meshes.
  • Start from existing Git repo
  • Create case files such that a user can easily drop his or her STL files into a folder, specify wave parameters, then run the simulation.
• 2D and/or 3D?
• Must be validated with experimental data--either existing or new.
