The first set of pre-flight tests to be performed BEFORE Friday, July 31.
- Preliminary drop test (Natalie): drop the payload structure (without electronics) from 6 feet and ensure there is no damage. Complete this test 5 times to ensure reliability of the payload structure.
- Nominal test (Nik): run electronics/software (without payload structure) for 3 hours in nominal temperature conditions of someone's home.
The second set of pre-flight tests to be performed the weekend of Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2.
Note: All of these tests will be performed with the fully assembled payload running the alpha branch of our flight software.
- Nominal test: run full system test for 1 hour in nominal temperature conditions.
- Thermal test: run full system test for 1 hour in warm car.
- Video streaming: one person goes to top of parking garage and other person goes to ground floor to test video streaming with difference in altitude.
- Video stabilization: attach the swivel to the payload and hang from a clothes hanger via paracord. Evaluate stability of video stream.
- Drop test: drop the payload from 3 feet and then from 6 feet.
