Print bottom cap, top cap, PiCam holder, and spine with our green PETG. The .stl files and .gcode are located here
- Exoskeleton (composed of carbon fiber rods and lexan)
To fabricate carbon fiber rods:
- cut 4 wooden rods to 16.2cm each
- once the rest of the structure is verified, cut 4 carbon fiber rods to 16.2cm each (since there is not much spare)
To fabricate lexan:
- 3D print PETG cylindrical mold (the lexan has a 13cm inner diameter, so the PETG cylindrical mold has a 13.0 cm outer diameter)
- cut flight lexan to 40.8cm length and 15.9cm height
- apply heat to lexan with heat gun and mold to PETG cylindrical mold, holding in place with clamps (put cloth between clamp and lexan to avoid scuffing)
- weld together both ends of the cylinder with super glue at seam and supplement with rectangular PETG piece for extra support
