Note: using ports makes the MESO level derivation from MICRO straightforward, but MACRO becomes questionable: how to consider a double tracked line as a linear element, where it has four ports (two track ends at each line end) and navigabilities may depend on the presence of crossovers? beyond net element composition, we would need to consider port composition.
