This page provides instructions for setting up a GitHub account. GitHub will be used as the primary form of version control until or unless we decide to pursue an alternative service like BitBucket or if we fail to get approval to continue to use GitHub for our needs. To create a free account on GitHub, follow the following steps:

1. Navigate to the following page
2. Fill in the following details as shown. While not required, for the sake of uniformity, please use the following format. For e.g. FirstLastRWE -> username

Once you do this, you will be asked a few basic questions as shown below. The responses to these questions has no impact on your usage, so feel free to just select what seems the most appropriate.

Once you finish this, you will receive an e-mail requesting you to confirm your email id. As soon as you finish your email verification, please send me a note with your username, so I can add you to our organizational account.
