Getting new (updated) data - UCSB-MEDS/shiny-dashboard GitHub Wiki
See note on the ideal dashboard update schedule.
Acquiring & saving raw data
Please consult the following table for information on who to request raw data from, and where those raw data files should be stored within the Bren Dashboard Google Drive. You can expect to receive raw data to be in the form of an .xlsx
or .csv
file or Google Sheet. Sam Shanny-Csik ([email protected]) or Jamie Montgomery ([email protected]) can provide access to Drive, as needed:
Name | Department | Contact | # of files requested | Google Drive folder (for raw data) | File naming structure |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Kristine Duarte | Admissions / Student Affairs | [email protected] | 1 (includes all application / admissions data for a given year) | Add raw data to admissions/raw-data |
application-export-YYYY (e.g. application-export-2025 ) |
Kimberly Yom | Admissions / Student Affairs | [email protected] | 1 per program cohort (MEDS / MESM), as necessary | Add spreadsheet with student melt (those that SIR yes but end up not attending or dropping from the program) to admissions/raw-data |
programAcronym YYYY Dropped Application IDs.csv (e.g. MESM 2026 Dropped Application IDs.csv ) |
Miya Scheble | Career Services | [email protected] | 2 per program cohort (MEDS / MESM); 4 total | Add raw data to career/raw-data/ ; create a new year folder (e.g. 2024/ ) inside the MESM/ and MEDS/ subdirectories, and add raw data to the respective folders |
(varies a bit year to year) programAcronym YYYY_Active Placement.... , programAcronym YYYY Initial Placement... |
Note: Career placement data is the result of the Career Service team's efforts to collect initial job placement data from the time students are in the MEDS program (first job placements typically occur ~spring quarter), through January the following year. Admissions and associated demographics data are pulled from UCSB's application data base.
