Description
In this article, the authors countered the viewpoint about open-source software. Within, the authors argue that not all software should be open-sourced for a multitude of reasons. Such as the necessity of programmers devoted to just sustainability of a package vs innovation and the costs that are necessary for such a team to exist, or how open-source code might in the end be more harmful to young academics rather then helpful. The authors also made an important distinction between data and software asserting that they are not the same and as such should not be treated as the same object.
