ADVANCED USAGE

If you want to briefly see a larger version of a thumbnail image, click it. This downloads a large image from GOG, that isn't permanently stored. The image is presented in a splash screen, and moving your mouse enough closes it.

The DOWNLOAD button has two right click menu options to change it into a VALIDATE button.

VALIDATE FILE - This provides you with a file browser to select a file belonging to the currently selected game, which is then validated.

VALIDATE GAME - This provides you with a folder browser to select a folder belonging to the currently selected game, which then has its files validated. You have the added option of having sub-folder files also be processed.

The 'Games' list has some right click options, that relate to special usage of the DOWNLOAD button and ADD TO MANIFEST button. This relates to lists that can be viewed or cleared. Viewing also allows manual editing in Notepad.

Both buttons have a list building option, if you hold down CTRL while clicking them. Both have a current limit of 10 game titles.

A 'Downloads' list is created with the DOWNLOAD button control combination.

This will be used to download up to 10 games in one sitting, with minimal clicks.

The DOWNLOAD button gets renamed to DOWNLOAD LIST when the first game title is added.

Clicking the DOWNLOAD LIST button processes the game titles on the 'Downloads' list.

First it checks that all the games listed have an entry in the manifest, and if not downloads the data to make it so.

Then it builds a list of files and required information for each one. Then it loads them into the 'Game Files Selector' window.

Note the new SHUTDOWN option and 'Skip' option, plus other additions and changes to the above window. You can also see that the window caption says 'Downloads List' at the end rather than a game title.

A 'Manifests' list is created with the ADD TO MANIFEST button control combination.

The ADD TO MANIFEST button gets renamed to MANIFEST LIST when the first game title is added. Go back three screenshots to see a renamed MANIFEST button.

This can be used to add to or update the main manifest, for up to 10 games in one sitting.

You do get a query when adding to the list, if the game title selected already has a main manifest entry.

The ADD TO MANIFEST button has another hold down combination option, this time with the SHIFT key.

That option presents a query prompt, allowing you to view the temporary manifest file (manifest.json), which gets overwritten every time you retrieve a manifest entry from GOG. The other option is to see the main manifest file (Manifest.txt), which contains all the game entries you have retrieved (Add and Update).

The LOG (text file icon) button opens the record 'Log.txt' file in Notepad. It also has a hold down CTRL key combination to view the 'Updated.txt' file instead.

Most processes with the GUI, create a Log record entry, which can be used to double check things, especially if you used the new SHUTDOWN option.

Every time you click the CHECK or GET GAMES LIST button, and game titles from your GOG library are retrieved, the 'Updated.txt' file gets added to for any game that reports an update. It does that regardless of whether the game is already on the list or not, but it does have an associated date of addition. This can be helpful when the update indicator disappears, especially in your online GOG game library. Viewing the game, as you probably know, clears that indicator.
