Order of the Candle - TrevorBrennan/DnD-Agroth GitHub Wiki
The Order of the Candle is the covert intelligence agency for the First Lord. From its original inception until today, their mission has been to ensure unity among the people of Agroth. They have operated under the guise of followers of Ag, originally created by the First Great Lord who attributed his ability to unite all people to her.
During the period of time when Ag was a false deity, the Clerics and Paladins of Ag were actually Warriors, Rangers, and Wizards working hard to play the part as best as they could. When Ag was willed into existence through the sheer magnitude of faith energy pored into her idea by her followers, true clerics of Ag were able to take over for these over worked individuals and begin to serve the people.
Ag's emergence did not have any massive shift in the intelligence worked performed for the First Lord however. He will for the order was to continue its efforts, as her wishes were also for the continuation of unity through the means the First Great Lord originally devised.
Structure
The Order of the Candle is largely similar to the organization of the Followers of Ag.
The Elder Council
There is a central Council of Elders comprised of some of the most revered minds of the order. Those serving on the Council of Elders work with the First Lord and are seen my most as simply being the staff of the First Lord's Chapel.
Communicators
Each individual range has its own communicator who is responsible for gathering the information from the various seminaries within that range and distributing it to the appropriate places. This may be to other Seminaries, or to the Elder Council if needed.
Seminaries
Individual Seminaries serve as the bases of operation for their individual provinces. Seminaries serve as instructional institutions and training grounds for new members of the Order of the Candle. They also serve as a hub of operations for the operatives of the order. Each seminary has an Abbot, or leader who organizes missions in the area. They also evaluate all potential new members sponsored by an existing member to determine if the criteria for joining are met.
Operatives
Operatives are any individuals who work outside of Seminaries to do the work of the Order. This can either be Priests and Paladins, or it could be Individual Contributors who have been brought into the circle and operate outside of direct public inspection.
