This guide will show you how to properly install all the needed libraries, tools, and resources for the First Robotics Competition.

1. Creating an account

You will first have to create an account with your institutional email. Click here to open the JetBrains account creation website You may receive a confirmation email after that.

2. Getting the Student License

To be able to have the complete IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate Java IDE, you must have a valid license. JetBrains provides students with free licensing. First fill out this form.

Once you're on the webpage, make sure you have the UNIVERSITY EMAIL ADDRESS selected. Now fill out the form. After that it should read on the webpage something like You will receive an email. So now you can head over to your institutional email inbox and look for an email like this:

Click on the Confirm Request link and now you should see this:

3. Installing IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate

Now, head over here and select your preferred platform and click on DOWNLOAD

After downloading and running the installation setup, click on Finish

Now proceed to look for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate in your applications and open it. Here are the basic configurations:

It is recommended that you install the IDE Features Trainer.

Log in with your username (or email) and password.
