  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Custom recovery installed (TWRP recommended, as it has a custom fastboot.)
  • ๐Ÿšซ vbmeta disabled for the custom recovery and GSI (in most cases, in LineageOS you can use with vbmeta stock.)
  • ๐Ÿ“ถ Not carrier locked (recommended)

๐Ÿ”“ Unlock Bootloader

  1. Go to: Settings โ†’ About phone โ†’ Software information
  2. Tap Build number 7 times
  3. Enable OEM unlocking in Developer Options
  4. Power off the device
  5. Hold Volume Up + Volume Down, then plug USB
  6. Hold Volume Up to unlock

  • This will factory reset your device
  • Knox will be permanently tripped

  • Download stock firmware (or AP file) + TWRP.tar

  • Extract AP file and obtain:

    • vbmeta.img.lz4
    • vbmeta_system.img.lz4

  • vbmeta_patched.img โ†’ vbmeta.img
  • vbmeta_system_patched.img โ†’ vbmeta_system.img

5๏ธโƒฃ Create Archive

  • Use 7-Zip
  • Include ONLY patched vbmeta files in the .tar

6๏ธโƒฃ Flash with Odin

  • AP: TWRP .tar
  • USERDATA: patched vbmeta .tar
  • Disable Auto-Reboot

7๏ธโƒฃ Boot to Recovery

  • Hold Power + Volume Down
  • Quickly switch to Power + Volume Up
