Roadmap - TrainerGuy22/Reliquary GitHub Wiki

Miscellaneous Additions:

  • Achievements
    • Could go anywhere with this, we’ll have to decide what is interesting enough to be an achievement. This is open to discussion. Feel free to suggest stuff.

New Configuration Options, a lot of them (jTOML, going to start on that soon):

  • Sojourner’s Staff Torch List
  • Damage-Soaking Items (Dragon’s Claw, Angelic Feather, et al) hunger cost multiplier (global and non-global)
  • Angelheart and Phoenix Down Effect disablers and multipliers
  • Void Tear Item Capacity multipliers
  • Recipe Disabler List for everything
  • Hero Medallion max capacity, experience penalty (optional) multiplier
  • Destruction Catalyst “Mundane” block list
  • Lilypad of Fertility Growth Rate Multiplier
  • Altar of Alkahestry cost/multiplier
  • Altar of Alkahestry completion rate/speed multiplier
  • Enable/disable/modify Item Reagent cost (Ice Magus rod, Ender Staff, et al)
  • Maybe a config option that disables all recipes and makes relics only able to be found through dungeon chests? We would need a IRelic interface then to tell relics apart from stepping stones.

Mechanics Changes:

  • Alkahestry Tome
    • Mob drop - Witch’s Hat for the recipe.
    • Absorb Redstone in inventory while holding down SHIFT?
  • Void Tears
    • Void satchel removed, void tears allow SHIFT-click to make them auto-absorb items.
    • Left clicking now “throws” a stack of items.
    • While in shift-click mode, leave at least one stack of (item) in inventory.

New Blocks:

  • Apothecary Mortar

    • Usage
      • Creating potion essence from vanilla (and configurable/modular) ingredients.
      • Can map ingredients in server config to one or more potion effects
      • Can mix two “finalized” essences together to create stacked potion effects
    • Reagent costs:
      • Duration increased by glowstone, like vanilla.
      • Each additional level of duration cost formula:
      • duration * (8/3 - (1/3 * (glowstoneLevel - 1))) (max: 62.2 minutes)
      • Potency increased by redstone, like vanilla.
      • For n levels of an upgrade, costs 2^n of a reagent.
      • Level +1: 1, Level +2: 2 (3 Total), Level +3: 4 (7 Total), Level +4 (max): 8 (15 Total)
    • Footnote:
      • Switching to vanilla appearance for potions and using vanilla potion bottles. No reason to have vials, really.
  • Apothecary Cauldron

    • Throwback to the original Minecraft cauldron design.
    • Tossing in a single essence (no matter how stacked) to create up to three potions. Leaving less water in the cauldron will result in a more “condensed” potion. Duration will be increased greatly at the expense of uses.
  • Blacksmith’s Crucible

    • Usage
      • Uses lava for fuel, recipe(s) yet to be specified.
      • Mostly for making more expensive metals to diversify recipes, including new content.
      • Primarily for making Alchemical Steel.
    • Casting
      • Eventually something like TiCon would be awesome but for starters just items will work. (Right click with a specific cast to get a specific part, et al)
      • Some interoperability with TiCon smelteries would be pretty cool.
  • Caster Shell Press

    • Usage
      • The primary means of creating a caster shell for the handgun. (See Caster Shell in the New Items section for more info, see below for the reagents/upgrades available)
      • The block WILL have a GUI, unlike the other blocks in the mod. Too complex not to.
      • Allows for the insertion of the modular reagents used to enhance shells.
    • Reagents:
      • Delivery reagents: (Can use up to 3)
        • Ender pearl (Phasing) - Shells ignore a certain distance worth of collision/travel time, appearing instantly at their origin point and harming anything they would have passed through. These are for “sniping”. Phase distance based on pearls used. Can effectively accomplish the same function as Silk, but slightly better as it makes shots “instant”.
        • Gunpowder (Explosive) - Shells explode on impact, size of explosion is based on amount of gunpowder used.
        • Nether Quartz (Fragmentation) - In addition to the main shot, several smaller, weaker shots are fired. “Shrapnel” fragments are also fired in random directions from the point of impact, but these will be very short range. The effect of other delivery reagents is diminished. Amount of fragmentation based on Quartz used.
        • Slime Ball (Rebound) - Causes shots to reflect on point of impact. The number of reflections are based on the amount of slime used.
        • Silk (Piercing) - Shells pass through a certain distance of solid material, including enemies, before disintegrating. Distance based on silk used.
        • Ghast Tear OR Silk + Slime Ball [Incompatible Combination] (Seeker) - Causes shots to seek targets within a certain range. Seek range improved by reagents used, and speed penalty of projectile is reduced.
      • Upgrade Reagents: (Can use up to 3)
        • Glowstone Dust (Blessed) - Shells deal bonus damage to undead creatures. May inflict blindness at a very low probability.
        • Block of Ice (Frozen) - Shells deal bonus damage to fire-immune creatures. May inflict slowness 5, at a very low probability.
        • Blaze Powder (Infernal) - Shells deal bonus damage to non-hostile mobs, sets things on fire. Increases bullet speed.
        • Redstone Dust (Reactive) - Automatically counts the shot as though it had one or more levels of “Explosive” if used against a creatures that drops gunpowder.
        • Lapis (Lucky) - Enemies killed by the shot are killed as though with a Looting weapon. Enemies missed by the shot within a certain range have a chance to be hit anyway.
        • Feather (Forceful) - Enemies will be knocked back substantially farther. Further upgrades stack exponentially and send the enemy flying.
        • Sugar (Reverse) - Shells cause the enemy struck to attack nearby mobs, if there are any. Shells heal instead of harming and any negative status effects are reversed. May inflict strength at a very low probability. Negative Status Ailment Potion Essence - applies all of the potion essences negative effects to the shell.
  • Pedestal

    • Usage
      • (By request) Displaying items in a fancy, stylish way.
      • Has certain powers when used in conjunction with certain relics:
      • Wraith’s Eye - link to the closest nearby pedestal that is equipped with a Wraith’s Eye for short range teleportation. Once the link is established, it is semi-permanent, so other new teleporters won’t interfere.
      • Frostband/Ice Magus Rod: Cause snow to collect around the pedestal and water to freeze. Harms Fire Immune [ie, Nether] mobs.
      • Salamander’s Eye/Dragon’s Claws/Firedrinker Claws: Spews fire at mobs that get too close to it. Keeps blocks around it on fire, can be disabled with redstone.
      • Coin of Fortune: Draw nearby items into a chest attached to it.
      • Witherless Rose: Cure status ailments (possibly just the Witherless Rose?). Possibly seconds as a super-charged Lilypad of Fertility. Possibly automatically coerce animals into breeding?
      • Destruction Catalyst: Creepers in its range will explode harmlessly, taking anything hostile with them in a violent death. No drops/experience from mobs killed in this way.
      • Touchstone of Midas: Mobs killed near the pedestal have a chance to drop glowstone dust and gold nuggets.
      • Cross of Mercy: Undead enemies nearby will burst into flames, receive heavy debuffs and take extra damage.

New Items:

  • Void Matrix
    • Usage
      • Kind of like a portable Project Table. You right click, ghost your recipe, and close the GUI.
      • SHIFT + right click to toggle.
      • When toggled on, the Void Matrix will search your inventory for all the materials it needs to make that recipe. If it finds enough, it will make the recipe.
    • Technicalities
      • It will be a little tricky, but I think we can make it support the Tome of Alkahest (and CraftingHandlers).
  • Harvest Rod
    • Usage
      • Takes in Bonemeal from inventory, slightly increases it’s range.
      • Breaks IPlantable/Leaves in an AOE when struck (please not lilypads!)
  • Serpent Staff
    • Function
      • Fires a stream of ‘kraken slime’ when right clicked. The ‘kraken slime’ is poisonous, and flies straight.
      • When in melee range, it acts kind of like a sword. You have a random chance of ‘stealing’ a full heart from the monster/player you're killing (only works on monsters/players).
    • Reparing
      • I wanted it to be a damageable item, not one that absorbs things from your inventory. Possibly make it reparable with a Kraken Shell in an Anvil? Look into Enchanting possibilities.
  • Autocrossbow
    • Function
      • Fires a stream of bolts when activated
      • Fire rate may be based on length of trigger hold (suggestion)
      • May eventually share modular functionality with handgun.
      • Mostly an alternative to the handgun
      • Possibly poisonable bolts
  • Rings
    • Baubles support, some people have requested it be optional? Don't know if that will hurt the experience or not.
    • Creation
      • Gold, Alchemical Steel, Mob Drops, Dungeon Generation, et al.
      • Rending Gale
    • Abilities to include:
      • pushing mobs (mobile interdiction torch)
      • creating a forcefield (repel projectiles)
      • assisting jumps/landings with y-axis force?
  • Frostband (lol != Frostbrand)
    • Abilities to include:
      • Turn surrounding water into Ice as you walk.
      • Cool lava (but restore it as you go) - moving platform basically.
      • Equipping gives exceptional bonuses to ice magus rod.
    • Crafting
      • Ghast tears/lapis/packed ice? Gold/alchemical steel?
  • Ignition Ring
    • Abilities to include:
      • Throw Ghast (fireball charges) and Blaze fireballs, enhanced.
      • Holds a “charge” of ghast “fireball” charges, like other projectiles.
      • Basic use as a flint and steel [less useful] that doesn’t break.
      • Blaze fireballs for free? (non-explosive, set stuff on fire)
    • Crafting:
      • Blaze rods, fire charges, flint and steel?
      • Gold ring seems fitting here, warmer colors.
  • Void Ring
    • Abilities still nebulous. Could take it many directions.
      • Pocket dimensions a possibility? Private dimensions?
      • Possible ties to Void Tears, item storage/transportation.
      • Possible bonuses to Serpent Staff HP Drain ability?
      • “Black hole” ability, destroy a mob but receive no reward?
      • I might have an idea for this. -TheMike
