My new CNC Project planning - TorstenC/Notizblog GitHub Wiki
After some disappointing experiences with this cheap 7.5W laser cutter I saw this video from Tobias Schrödel:
CNC milling router on the wall (German)
With such a vertical mounting, the (not exhausted) swarfs do not remain on the workpiece and fall down. In addition, it is easier to compensate the weight of the spindle or the milling machine on the X axis with a pulley and a counterweight than on the Z axis.
If milling/routing is not sufficient, I'll try a Laser Module with Built-in Air Assist Metal Nozzle like this.
Current plan (modification of the "Volksfräse", to te updated)
- Use 3030 constructional profiles like these
- For the prototype use V-Slot POMs like these
- For the prototype use one of these controllers:
- For the prototype (milling/routing) don't buy a Spindle Motor + Frequency Drive Inverter like this but use:
- My Dremel or
- my overhead router.
Later, the stepper motors may be replaced by BLDC motors and a DIY controller.
... to be continued ...
