Secondary Uses - Toolauth/wing-combo GitHub Wiki

[!CAUTION] This section is incomplete.

We know that this hardware can be more generally useful than for its purpose as designed. Below are some of the uses that we know of (and maaybe use).

Dust Handler

The wing-combo board is an excellent choice for controlling any heavy-duty dust handlers, as might be in a woodshop. The wing-combo can use a contactor to control power to the Dusthandler, so you have essentially unlimited voltage/current options for the type of dusthandler that you can drive. Also, it is assumed by the default cardsystem/ESPHome firmware that when the wing-combo board is driving a dust-handler, one E-Stop will be used. For large scale Dust handlers, this is best practice as smoldering dust can lead to fires. The high-voltage output G.light can either be left unpopulated, or the light can be added as an indicator of what the Dust Handler should be doing.

Jumper the following items with wire of at least 16AWG:

  • E-Stp2:stage1 E-Stop2: stage 1
  • E-Stp2:stage2 E-Stop2: stage 2
  • G.btn Green Button
  • R.btn Red Button

Leave Unpopulated:

  • G.light green light (unless you want the green lite to indicate dust handler's intended state)

Connect to nominal outputs:

  • OUT should output to drive a contactor
  • E.Stp1:stage1 E-Stop1: stage 1
  • E.Stp1:stage2 E-Stop1: stage 2
  • The E-Stop1 low-voltage light & sensor lines should also be conencted on the low-voltage side of the wing-combo board
