Horses and men are looked after in considerable luxury - at least compared to where infantry are expected to live! Farriers and specialised armourers are also found here, allowing many types of cavalry to be trained.

The Hippodrome becomes even more useful after the reforms of Marius take effect, and turn Roman cavalry into a fully professional force.
