Latin Citizen Infantry are drawn from the Roman citizen pool whenever the Senate finds it necessary to wage war. Altough they carry their own equipment, their citizen status means they have enough coin to afford good quality weapons and armour.

They carry a sword for offense, and use a large oval shield, as well as chainmail armour or breastplates to defend themselves. They fight amongst the traditional hoplite forces of early Republican Rome, giving the army more flexibility as well as a strong force to use in any situation.
