Cantabrian cavalry auxilia are best used to harass enemy infantry and pursue fleeing enemies. They lack the armour protection needed for prolonged melees against heavier opponents and, as they are armed with swords, do not have an initial shock value when they charge home. They have however an immense skill in skirmishing - their Cantabrian Circle was designed to be able to harass all kinds of enemy infantry without having to worry about melee or missile attacks. This, paired with their skilled horsenamnship, makes them dangerous foes.
