Windows XP

Windows XP was introduced in 2001 as a part of the Windows NT family of operating systems, and it was the successor to both Windows 2000 and Windows Me.

Windows XP Professional includes features for business and advanced home computing, including remote desktop support, an encrypting file system, and system restore and advanced networking features.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications: *CPU: Pentium or compatible, 233 MHz *RAM: 64 MB *Free Space: 10 GB for OS Partition

Windows Server 2003

Besides consumer Windows version, Microsoft also makes Windows Server for commercials to manage and host service for clients. Windows Server 2003 was introduced in 2003, which was a successful of Windows Server 2000.

Windows Server 2003 Minimum Specifications: *CPU: 550 MHz *RAM: 512 MB *Free Space: 1.5 GB

Windows Vista

Windows Vista was released in 2006 as a part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Microsoft made a lot of improvements in Windows Vista version such as enhancing graphical interface, improve Windows security, and fixing a lot of Windows bug, especially Blue Screen of Death.

Windows Vista Minimum Specifications:

  • CPU: 1 GHz
  • RAM: 1 GB
  • Free Space: 15 GB for OS Partition

Although Windows Vista was a great Windows version releasing in 2006, Microsoft received a lot of criticism about this version such as expensive version price, and unreliable due to Blue Screen of Death.

Windows 7

After receiving a lot of criticism from Windows Vista in 2006, Windows had been working really to improve their Windows Operating System, which they introduced the Windows 7 in 2009. Windows 7 was the most anticipated Operating Systems. A lot of people loved it due to its reliable and easy to use. Microsoft introduced desktop widget in Windows 7 that help users easy to put things like note on the Windows Desktop. It also improves Windows Media Center, which is music control center and disc burner.

Since Windows 7 was very reliable, a lot of users and companies had been keeping using Windows 7 for many years up until Windows released Windows 10, and it did not support Windows 7 anymore.

  • RAM: 1 GB
  • Free Space: 20 GB for OS Partition

Windows 10

Windows 10 is the latest Windows Version releasing in 2015 by Microsoft up until now. Microsoft said that they will keep Windows 10 as a final name for their Windows Operating System, and they will keep improving the Windows 10 OS. Windows 10 is also a part of its Windows NT family of operating systems. There are a lot of improvements in Windows 10 such as introducing light and dark mode for daylight and night usage, has virtual assistant which is Cortana, has an option to pause update or update Windows outside of active hours, enhance security with Microsoft account, Windows Outlook and Mail improvements, etc.

  • RAM: 1 GB
  • Free Space: 32 GB for OS Partition
