An Abridged Evolution of MS Windows

For over thirty years Microsoft has been the purveyor of the Windows series of operating systems. Bill Gates and Paul Allen started Microsoft (short for MICRO-computer SOFTware) in 1975. Microsoft entered the OS game in 1980 with their own version of Unix called Xenix. However, it was the contract with IBM that lead to the creation of MS-DOS that would make Microsoft a power house. Five years later the era of Windows would begin. This wiki is a brief synapsis of the Windows OS's through the years.
