ℹ️ Virtual-Mode and Direct-Mode
You can choose between Virtual-Mode and Direct-Mode display configuration in the PlayStation VR Management
section.
Make sure your PlayStation VR is properly connected and all drivers installed otherwise the display mode selection will fail.
[!WARNING] Direct Mode is currently only supported on AMD and Intel graphics cards, and requires SteamVR to function.
[!TIP] It is recommended to use the Virtual-Mode display configuration as it is the most compatible mode.
ℹ️ Enable and Disable Direct-Mode in SteamVR
If everything is set up, Direct-Mode configuration selected and SteamVR including OSC is running, you should see your Head-Mounted Display appear with an SteamVR Fail 422
error.
To enable Direct-Mode for the enable Head-Mounted Display open the SteamVR menu, click Developers
, Developer Settings
and then Enable Direct Display Mode
.
If you enabled Direct-Mode via SteamVR prior and it does not work anymore (for example if you rebooted your computer or PlayStation VR), make sure you click Disable Direct Display Mode
before enabling it again.
[!WARNING] If you want to switch to Virtual-Mode you need to disable Direct-Mode in SteamVR first by clicking
Disable Direct Display Mode
. Otherwise you will be unable to switch modes or install any other configuration
