Welcome to the AYDP wiki!
The object of this project is to develop a model sailing yacht which can autonomously and safely sail between predetermined waypoints. The project has several stages, with the yacht becoming larger and more complex in each. For the moment, only a proof-of-concept is considered.
The proof of concept uses a commercially available model yacht as a basis, and will implement an autopilot based around a raspberry PI computer. These are chosen to give adequate capability, while keeping the costs low.
This project has several tasks:
- Weather monitoring
- Building and testing the yacht
- Building the autopilot
- Performance optimisation
