General Discipline Rules

  • 2 Yellow Cards Are Treated As A Red?

    • Check this box.
      • Reasoning: This is a standard rule in most football leagues where a second yellow card automatically leads to a red card, resulting in a sending-off.
  • Can Play In Reserve Matches When Banned?

    • Leave unchecked.
      • Reasoning: Players who are banned from first-team matches should generally not be allowed to play in reserve matches during their suspension period.
  • Can Update Other Discipline Rules Suspensions?

    • Leave unchecked.
      • Reasoning: Typically, suspension rules are fixed and not updated during the course of the season unless there’s an exceptional circumstance.
  • Transfer Red Card Bans To League At End Of Competition

    • Check this box.
      • Reasoning: If a player receives a red card at the end of a cup competition, the suspension should carry over to the next available league matches.

Yellow Card/Points Rules

  • Type: Yellow Cards
  • Sequence: 2, 3, 4, etc.
    • Reasoning: This means a player will receive suspensions for accumulating a set number of yellow cards over the season.

Games Suspended (List)

  • Games Suspended:
    • Set to 1.
      • Reasoning: A player should be suspended for 1 match after reaching the specified number of yellow cards (as per the sequence defined above).

Yellow Card/Points Suspension Rules

  • Suspension Start Date: Immediate
    • Reasoning: The suspension should begin immediately after the player reaches the threshold for yellow card accumulation.
  • Suspended For: All Competitions In Nation
    • Reasoning: The suspension should apply across all competitions within the nation to ensure consistency.

Red Card Suspension Rules

  • Games Suspended:
    • Set to 1.
      • Reasoning: A straight red card typically results in at least a 1-match suspension. You may increase this based on the severity of the offense (e.g., violent conduct might warrant a 3-match ban).

Here are some recommendations for setting up season-long competition bans based on red and yellow card accumulation:

Season Long Competition Ban Info:

  • Red Card Limit:

    • Set Value to 2-3.
      • Reasoning: If a player receives 2 or 3 straight red cards in a single season, a season-long ban might be warranted as this suggests a pattern of severe misconduct.
  • Yellow Card Limit:

    • Set Value to 10-12.
      • Reasoning: If a player accumulates 10-12 yellow cards over the course of a season, this could trigger a season-long ban. This encourages players to manage their behavior throughout the season to avoid reaching this limit.
