Overview

This page is aimed at handling the most common issues (new) users will tend to face

Meta Morph plugin not appearing

the most common reason for this is that the vcvplugin file was either the wrong architecture, or was copied into the incorrect folder. check the Rack2/plugins-mac-* folder for a MetaMorph folder if it does not exist, and you still see the vcvplugin file, this is the reason

loading a patch, no sound or activity on Eigenharp module.

have you set your audio interface on the AUDIO module? see Audio Clock topic

Pico not working

Meta Morph is showing, and audio module is set, but I still don't get activity on my pico.

ok, the pico is quite fussy about its USB connection... if you have not had it working before in exactly this setup, then you could have an issue with the hardware.

here are the things to try - in order. a) never use usb extension cables ! avoid any kind of adapters. b) plug directly into your computer (no hubs, no adapters!) , try different usb ports on your computer. c) try different high quality usb cables, try shorter cables. d) try using an powered usb hubs , try different ones. preferably for usb 2, and MTT hub.

the above may seem onerous, but in reality, I've never had an issue getting my Pico to work on any computer. however, sometimes in needs to be with a particular cable, or using a particular usb port or a hub. so you need to find the combination that works for you.

usb-c, this probably needs a special note.. given its common these days not to have usb-a. I use an unpowered usb-c hub, without any issue, again, you'll need to experiment, sometimes simple adapters will work, sometimes not.

note: one of the issues with usb, is that manufactures of computers, hubs and adapters all use different chipsets, and they rarely advertise which chipset is used. so when incompatibilities occur we are unable to build up the knowledge of which chipsets are causing issues .. this is not pico specific issue, we see it on other usb devices too.

Linux, although not supported at this time... I'll mention here for the future. Ive had various issues with particular kernel versions over the years with the Pico, again it's down to chipsets and how well they are supported on various kernels. unfortunately, sometimes it'll work for years, then a new release will come and break it. (we used to have this with macOS too, but this appears to have go better in recent years)
