Instruments

We used piezoelectric vibration sensors to create our drums. We placed each sensor between two manually cut cardboard disks to give the sensor the appearance of a Rock Band or Guitar Hero drum pad.

We used a flex sensor to act like a guitar. We felt that the action of bending the flex sensor was analogous to strumming a guitar.

We used the VL53L0X board to build a theremin. The VL53L0X is a distance sensor that can measure the distance between a hovering hand and the board and write this value to the Arduino over its I2C communication bus.

Finally a Blue USB microphone was used to record a vocal sample that could be recorded and played back through our web interface.
