Laser-cut Design

Infinity mirrors have been a popular craze for quite some time and they're actually fairly simple to make. The effect is created by placing a ring of LEDs in-between a normal mirror and a two-way mirror. The two-way mirror reflects half the light that hits it and lets half the light pass through. Therefore, when the LEDs turn on, some light bounces between the two mirrors and some light escapes creating an illusion of depth. We purchased acrylic mirrors so that we could use the laser cutter to cut a perfect circle, and placed them in-between two clear acrylic plates that acted as the enclosure for the visualizer. The ring of LEDs was held together in place with a strip of cardboard that was folded into a circular shape.
