The Conglomerate share a property with the Coalition in that they are a group of multiple alien races, but instead of three races living in harmony, the Conglomerate are lead by a tyrannical race who subjugate other alien races they come across. Effectively the violent counter to the Coalition, brought together through war with each other instead of war against a common foe.
The idea being of the Coalition at first appearing nice and the Conglomerate at first appearing evil, but flip things on their head as the Coalition fractures in war, but subjects of the Conglomerate prosper; no distinct divide between the subjects and the ruling class as with the Coalition (T1.5 jumps to T2.5 for the Heliarch), instead having a gradient from the weakest to the strongest.
The rulers of the Conglomerate. Tall, muscular, cyclopes-like beings with a harsh sounding language, the Kmthuso first achieved spaceflight in the middle of a world war that had raged for nearly a century. The faction among the Kmthuso that had discovered spaceflight swiftly caused the other nations to yield with promise of riches on other worlds, and the race quickly turned its wrath to the stars.
(or in their native tongue, the Seshins)
The first race to fall to Kmthuso rule, while also holding the title of having lasted the longest before being subjugated. This is partially due to the Kmthuso rushing so quickly into war with the first species they discovered among the stars, but also thanks to the considerable intellect among the Ekinth.
A highly intelligent serpent-like species, the Ekinth had discovered spaceflight over 500 years before the Kmthuso, but being a peaceful and not highly ambitious species, the Ekinth had not colonized many systems and were poorly suited for a war. Although, the Ekinth were quickly able to devise weaponry to defend against the Kmthuso, and given that the few worlds they had colonized were each almost as developed as their homeworld, they were able to stave off defeat for a long time.
The only reason for the loss of the Ekinth is due to a traitor; a single Ekinth dissatisfied with his people defected to the Kmthuso in secret, bringing with him knowledge and intellect that allowed him to create new weapons and devise new strategies for the Kmthuso that ultimately lead to the fall of the collective. Many members of the Ekinth race hold great sway in the Kmthuso Empire, acting as consultants to the Kmthuso royalty or high command and leading the scientific fields that expand the Kmthuso Empire's power. Rumor says that the top Ekinth scientists have been put to work on a secret project that would allow the Kmthuso Empire to control the entire galaxy.
(original name lost to history)
The second and quickest race to fall to the Kmthuso, now with the help of the Ekinth. The Thslakes had not even discovered spaceflight when the Kmthuso ships had arrived, leaving the Thslake no option but to submit. This hare-like race has contributed nothing of importance to the Kmthuso Empire, with all members of the species being slaves to the Kmthuso.
Are as dogs are to man.
Found on a world with an unusually high amount of atmospheric oxygen and rather low gravity that allowed for many large lifeforms to evolve, the Kountho are large, hairy, two legged, saber toothed predators with an insatiable thirst for blood. Often seen being used in sport and entertainment as Thslake are either forced to fight or are simply fed to these creatures, the Kountho can also be found fighting alongside the Kmthuso should they ever make a ground assault on an alien planet or when boarding ships.
(Mal'alen in their native tongue)
The latest of the alien races to fall to the Kmthuso Empire, but also the only race ever to revolt under Kmthuso rule. As punishment, the Kmthuso Monarch sought to personally wipe the Kfawth from existence, leading to the mass genocide of some 18 billion Kfawth. It is said that before the Monarch was able to finish his job, mysterious forces caused him to return to the Kmthuso homeworld of Moks Kmthusolk, and access to the region of space that the Kfawth lived in was somehow lost.
The current status of the Kfawth is unknown, but it is believed that only about a tenth of a billion Kfawth survived the genocide.
