Ice Skates are a variant of Fur Boots that allow for much greater movement on ice blocks.

Ice Skates can be obtained by applying an Iron Sword to either Fur Boots or Fur Padded Chainmail Boots using an Ice Skate Upgrade Template in the Smithing Table. Note that Ice Skates cannot be upgraded to Armored Ice Skates, instead use Fur Padded Chanmail Boots to obtain that item.

The upgrade template can be duplicated in a Crafting Table with 1 packed snow block, 2 diamonds, and 5 iron ingots.

The upgrade template can be found in the basement chest of Igloos.

Ice Skates can be equipped in the boot slot and enables any entity wearing them to move much faster on ice (and also much slower off-ice). Players can sprint to go even faster or sneak to stop. Ice Skates can be particularly useful when combined with the Frost Walker enchantment, enabling very fast travel over oceans and rivers.

Ice Skates provide the same armor and frost resistance as Fur Boots.

Stepping on entities will cause them to take a small amount of damage.

Ice skates can also be trimmed, just like regular armor.

Ice Skates have a similar appearance to their fur armor counterparts, except for the addition of a skating blade on the bottom.

When skating, the 'bobbing' animation will be disabled. When not inputting any movement, you will glide and your limbs will freeze in place and not swing from movement, even if your character is still moving.
