The Frostologer is an Illager miniboss, and leader of the Frostologer Clan of Illagers. They reside in a large castle in the Snowy Plains with their gang of Chillagers.
Frostologers will spawn from an Icy Trial Spawner, with one being located in every Frostologer Castle.
Regular Icy Trial Spawners will only spawn 1 Frostologer per player. Ominous Icy Trial Spawners will summon 4 Frostologers + 2 per player, with up to 2 Frostologers + 2 per player alive at a time.
A Chillager will transform into a Frostologer when struck by Lightning.
Same as other hostile mobs, except:
- Movement speed: 0.5
- Follow range: 32
- Max health: 150 (75 hearts)
- Min temperature: 45 (-6300 temperature points)
- Max temperature: 0
- Ice Break Damage: 5
The Frostologer will drop 1-2 Frozen Rods when killed by a player, scaling with Looting.
The Frostologer will attack Iron Golems, Villagers, and Players. If near an Iron Golem, the Frostologer will flee to avoid being attacked.
Freezing works differently for Frostologers. Instead of being weakened by cold they are strengthened by it. So, Frostologers have the regular temperature effects replaced with the following:

The Frostologer's basic attack loop is to freeze their target with their Frost Wand and then break the ice to deal massive damage. Each time a Frostologer hits their target with a frost spell cast from their wand, they get cooler. Eventually, they will be cold enough to cast a blizzard spell that can drain heat from all nearby entities and destroys all nearby heat sources. However, in the process of channeling this spell they will warm up again, restarting the loop.
The Frostologer can also summon 7-12 thrown icicles to damage targets that have been frozen by their frost wand. This attack has a cooldown randomly set between 10 and 15 seconds.
When the Frostologer is cold enough, they will attempt to destroy nearby heat (light) sources. Before the spell is cast, the Frostologer channels a blizzard, freezing all nearby entities by a massive amount. When the channel is complete, all light sources within 15 blocks are destroyed; turning into either Obsidian, Frozen Torches, or Air. While channeling, the Frostologer is immune to fire and projectiles.
