D60 continuous-position research and admission
Date: 7 October 2026. Owner: Moira engine, VED-003. State: bounded modern profile implemented and broadly validated locally; classical degree attribution unestablished.
The completed software validation checks 24,432 inputs against pinned PyJHora full-point outputs and compiled Maitreya sign/intermediate outputs. Permanent tests compare engine, facade, REST and strength projection with externally captured coordinates. This closes the modern computation's broader validation package without changing its governing source locators or claiming classical attribution.
Follow-up: the completed bounded evidence adjudication adds a second identified BPHS edition, independent published sign witnesses and one conditionally compatible rounded arudha-point pair. A qualified planetary full-position oracle remains unestablished. The earlier evidence and execution checkpoint below are retained with their original scope.
The user authorized pursuing and exceeding the earlier full-position criteria. The earlier Chara/D60 packet and sign admission remain the starting evidence. This extension examines local books and public primary author material; no website/Urania changes or source publication are included.
Identified governing sources
| Source | Passage and evidence role | Identity |
|---|---|---|
| P.V.R. Narasimha Rao, Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach, first published 2000, prefatory update dated 18 March 2010 | Section 6.2.20, printed p.60/PDF p.72: equal half-degree D60 parts counted from the natal sign; example 26 publishes Jupiter 222 degrees 58 minutes to Sagittarius, without a mapped degree. | Local Good books/vedic_astro_textbook.pdf, 515 pages; SHA-256 2971851a3cda30929cf5b1ec56b88902bd4a141c8d5479599573ddf1c5f78242. | Rao, Two Novel Transit Principles: Based on Objective Longitude Correlations, 31 December 2013, version 1 | PDF p.2, Calculation and Reverse Reckoning: a partition maps proportionally into 30 degrees, with reversal when that chart's sign sequence runs backward. | Author PDF, 21 pages; SHA-256 9fe0f663d7cb2c30dac4c8664f3bd8b2223afbc9d09d1ce13be8c04709718f84. |
| Rao, Transit of Nakshatra Dasa Lord: A Specific Principle, 31 December 2009, version 2 | PDF p.3, examples 6-10: published D60 coordinates, but no corresponding natal D1 longitude pairs. | Author PDF, 10 pages; SHA-256 a5140d5d24b5cf25e83ba4fbea5bd859645c4b00acdadf33e6982680374edfd6. |
| R. Santhanam, BPHS Vol. I | Chapter 6.33-41 and commentary, printed p.83/PDF p.82: admitted sign rule and selected deity list; no continuous-degree prescription found in this passage. | Local hash and earlier visual adjudication retained in the source standard. |
The downloaded author textbook differs in binary identity and some extracted
text from the local copy. Pages 1, 2 and 72 have identical extracted text;
the locally rendered cover, update and D60 passage were visually inspected.
The 2013 article's title and governing page and the 2009 D60 example page were
also rendered and visually checked. PDFs, extracts and rendered evidence are
private under C:\dev\outputs\vedic-d60-full-position-2026-10-07.
The textbook update acknowledges later refinements. The author's article index also flags older research calculations as potentially superseded. The admitted name therefore pins a textbook/linear composition; it does not imply the author's current recommendation or agreement with current Jagannatha Hora. Neither those notices nor software outputs change the inspected passage's wording.
Numerical discrepancy and evidence classes
The 2013 article's D9 example states advancement of 1 degree 25 minutes, multiplied by nine, but prints a result of 13 degrees 45 minutes. Independent sexagesimal arithmetic gives 12 degrees 45 minutes. That is a source arithmetic discrepancy, not an engine tolerance problem. Its D24 example consistently maps half a degree by 24 to 12 degrees and reverses from 30 to 18. The profile follows the explicit proportional law; it does not reproduce the defective D9 numeral or silently replace it in the source record.
The textbook's Jupiter input and Sagittarius sign are published paired sign evidence. Applying the proportional law to its remaining 28 arcminutes yields 28 Sagittarius in D60. That mapped degree is a derived fixture, not a published coordinate in the textbook. Other literal parity/wrap fixtures are likewise derived, with exact rational arithmetic in tests.
The 2009 article publishes D60 Venus 15 Aquarius 18, Sun 9 Cancer 41, Moon 8 Cancer 06 and Sun 6 Pisces 55 in examples 6, 8 and 9. Their corresponding natal D1 longitudes are absent from these examples. Birth details, true nodes and the author's Jagannatha ayanamsa do not constitute paired longitude inputs or a reproducible oracle for this profile. Those coordinates are contextual evidence that the author used full D60 positions; they were not inverted into invented published inputs or replayed under Moira's Lahiri defaults.
Wider local review and limits

Reviewed scope | Admission consequence |
|---|---|---|
Books by Authors/BV Raman/A Manual of Hindu Astrology by BV Raman.pdf |
Scanned TOC and chapter XII; article 127, printed pp.103-104/PDF pp.132-133, plus preceding/following pages rendered visually. Text extraction is empty and was not used as absence evidence. | Half-degree subdivision and parity-dependent deity naming, with a materially different printed name sequence; no continuous-position law in the inspected passage. Do not merge its table into Santhanam's edition. |
Good books/(I)Timing-of-EventsCrux-of-Vedic-Astrology-1 .pdf |
Extracted divisional-chart discussion and D60 references; printed p.33/PDF p.39 visually checked. | Signification/weight discussion does not supply the missing degree prescription. This is a scoped passage review, not a claim about every page or other Rath works. |
#Articles/Shastyamsa-D60.pdf, Nikhil Gupta, copyright 2011 |
Three-page extracted article. | Discusses timing/interpretation, not a governing continuous-degree calculation. No admission from predictive assertions. |
#Articles/53-SecretsofShastiamsa11BCPBW.pdf, Saptarishis Astrology, copy editor Andree Leclerc |
Five-page extracted article; PDF p.4 discussion of software D60 degrees. | Calls those degrees hypothetical; software availability does not supply a positional law or classical authority. |
#Articles/DivisionalCharts-hank.pdf |
Text search in the sixteen-page extract and review of the partition discussion. | General modern discussion; no independently admitted D60 full-position witness. |
| Santhanam Vol. II and Kalyana Varma's Saravali | Text extraction and relevant D60/degree search leads. | No new governing degree passage established in this limited review. Neither whole-source absence nor manuscript exhaustiveness is claimed. |
The private local_manifest.json and online_manifest.json preserve exact
file identities for reproducible follow-up. Search hits for strength proportions,
Tajaka shashti-hora, or adjacent divisional charts were not treated as D60 laws.
This is broader evidence review, not a critical-edition collation of all BPHS
manuscripts or Vedic literature.
Admission and acceptance outcome
| Criterion | Result and limit |
|---|---|
| Identified sign and continuous-degree prescriptions | Met for the explicitly composed modern pvr_textbook_linear profile; both primary sources and their dates are visible in canonical results. Classical attribution is unestablished. |
| Demonstrated application of a general law | Equal 0.5-degree D60 partitions, forward sign sequence and proportional 30-degree mapping yield factor 60. This combination is explicitly an inference/profile construction, not a quoted D60-specific continuous verse. |
| Fraction, endpoints, wrap and parity | Half-open intervals, both parities forward, zodiac normalization and ULP boundary handling specified and tested. Deity reversal is kept separate. |
| Source fixtures with honest evidence labels | Published sign witness, source arithmetic discrepancy, consistent general-law example and independently derived D60 degrees separated. Published D60 coordinates without D1 inputs remain unpaired evidence. |
| Independent computational verification | Exact-rational verification and 24,432 pinned-software comparisons cover every segment, boundaries, seeded samples and conditioned planetary inputs. The broader receipt scopes full PyJHora outputs and Maitreya sign/intermediate evidence. Existing rational thresholds, snapshots and goldens are retained. |
| Engine/facade/REST/strength integration | Selected method and authority receipts reach all intended consumers; inapplicable/sign-only/unknown methods fail explicitly; harmonic defaults and other division policies retained. |
Named modern computation and broader computational validation are locally complete. The historical question and qualified published planetary full-D60 oracle remain visible research frontiers. The follow-up adjudication completes a finite review with no new classical degree admission; its single rounded point witness is explicitly conditional. The execution receipt records tests and limitations; predictive effectiveness is not asserted.
