D60 bounded evidence adjudication
Subsequent reconciliation: the wider-library admission admits an explicitly classical-derived full-degree profile. It supersedes this earlier refusal to admit that category. The conclusion that the reviewed passages do not directly prescribe continuous D60 degrees remains scoped and intact; this record is not a collection-wide absence claim.
Date: 7 October 2026. Owner: Moira engine, VED-003. Outcome: the agreed evidence pass is complete; retain the explicitly composed modern profile. Classical continuous-degree attribution and a qualified planetary full-position oracle are not established in the reviewed sources.
The subsequent broader computational validation is complete: pinned software outputs corroborate 24,432 conditioned inputs, with permanent engine/facade/REST/strength checks. The historical admission result below does not block validation of the declared modern computation. Software captures are a separate evidence class from published chart pairs.
This extends the full-position source packet and source standard. The three questions were published D1/full-D60 comparisons, the integrity of the dated PVR composition, and a bounded classical passage/commentary review. This is an admission decision with a finite review scope, not a claim that a missing passage cannot exist elsewhere.
Decision by evidence class
| Question | Finding | Admission decision |
|---|---|---|
| Classical continuous D60 degrees | Santhanam and Sharma's identified BPHS translations/commentaries supply sign counting, partition sizes and deity naming. The inspected adjacent proportional passages concern strength/effects. Raman's inspected D60 treatment also supplies no continuous mapped-degree law. | Admit no new classical full-position method. Keep bphs_santhanam_sign sign-only. The bounded review is complete with a negative admission result, not universal absence. |
| Dated PVR composition | The 2000 textbook sign sequence and 2013 general degree prescription can define an explicit Moira convention. No inspected passage confirms that their combination is the author's current D60 recommendation. Author revision notices and the 2012 addition of several D60 alternatives prevent that claim. | Retain pvr_textbook_linear as a dated, composed convention, with both governing locators. Do not relabel it BPHS full-position, a single published PVR D60 formula, or current JHora equivalence. |
| Published full-position comparison | One primary author source publishes a D1/full-D60 pair for an arudha point, compatible only under an explicit nearest-minute rounding assumption. It supplies neither a planetary pair nor both natal parities. | Add conditional precision evidence. Do not declare a qualified planetary oracle established or invent hidden seconds. |
| Independent source sign evidence | Sharma's worked Gemini example and three literal table rows corroborate natal-sign forward counting across both parities. | Add source sign fixtures. Table partition endpoints are natal coordinates, not published mapped D60 degrees. |
Two identified BPHS editions and named commentary
The second edition is Girish Chand Sharma's Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra, Vol. I, Sagar Publications: first published 1994, reprinted 1995 and 1999; the downloaded scan's imprint identifies the 1999 reprint. The cover names Sharma as translator, commentator and annotator. Its chapter numbering differs: the D60 passage is 7.33-41, versus Santhanam 6.33-41.

The scan's OCR is unreliable; an unsuccessful text search is not absence evidence.
Sharma's Sun example gives Gemini 26 degrees 31 minutes 54 seconds to Scorpio. No mapped degree is printed. Three table rows were transcribed as literal sign witnesses: rows 1, 26 and 60, across all twelve natal signs. Tests sample their interiors and make no inference about the table's exact endpoint convention. Its deity table has an internal variant: slot 57 reads Sudha while the preceding prose includes Amrita. These witnesses do not replace Moira's selected Santhanam name table or settle deity variants.
The other reviewed edition is the identified local R. Santhanam Vol. I scan,

Review covers the D60 passage/commentary at printed p.83/PDF p.82 and the
adjacent divisional-use/Vimshopaka discussion in chapter 7. Strength proportions
are not a prescription for a point's continuous D60 longitude. The unidentified
local Classics books/BPHS 1.HTM and the Sanskrit Documents transcription
are not counted as additional independent printed editions.
Named supporting treatments retained from the local corpus:
- B.V. Raman, A Manual of Hindu Astrology, article 127, printed pp.103-104/ PDF pp.132-133: subdivision and deity parity; no full-position law in the inspected passage. The scanned pages, rather than empty extraction, govern.
- Sanjay Rath, The Crux of Vedic Astrology: Timing of Events, first local part's printed p.33/PDF p.39 and second part's section 12.4, printed p.370/ PDF p.122: D60 significance/weight; no continuous-degree calculation there.
- K.N. Rao, Karma & Rebirth in Hindu Astrology, local PDF pp.89-92, including printed p.91/PDF p.90: a D60 sign chart, without a full-degree coordinate table. It does not supply the missing oracle.

PDF pp.2-3 define mapping an already calculated rasi-level pada as a point,
as with a planet, into a divisional chart. Example 30, PDF p.12, prints
the twelfth-house pada at 16 Cancer 17 in D1 and 16 Pisces 37 in D60.
The article states Jagannatha ayanamsa and true nodes. Its minute-rounding
rule is not stated. The governing calculation/example pages were visually checked.
These are published coordinates of the same mathematical point. They were not recovered by inverting an unpaired D60 chart. Feeding the printed D1 center into Moira gives 17 Pisces 00, a difference of 23 D60 arcminutes. It therefore fails an exact printed-number comparison.
If both coordinates were rounded to the nearest arcminute, the D1 interval
is [16 Cancer 16m30s, 16 Cancer 17m30s). The composed profile maps that
interval to [16 Pisces 30m, 17 Pisces 30m). The published D60 interval,
[16 Pisces 36m30s, 16 Pisces 37m30s), lies inside it. Under truncation to
minutes, the D1 interval instead maps to [17 Pisces 00, 18 Pisces 00);
compatibility fails. This conditional result is recorded explicitly. There
is no fitted tolerance, fabricated precise D1 input or rounding in runtime.
One even-sign arudha point cannot establish odd/even parity coverage, planetary ephemeris accuracy or an independently reproduced chart. Source-owned birth data are context; we do not substitute Lahiri for its declared frame. The source's pada construction, house doctrine and predictive assertions are not admitted by a test of the point mapping.
Author chronology and other primary leads
Jagannatha Hora 7.63 changes, 23 October 2012 announce three additional D60 definitions and an option for reverse divisional degrees. That establishes variation; it does not identify which alternative the author recommends today. The article index places the 2010 padamsa paper among older work potentially using superseded calculations. It places the 2013 general-degree paper among newer research. The modern profile therefore remains a Moira composition with dated sources.

Published D60 degrees, but no paired D1 table there; Pushya-paksha and author-recommended JHora settings are declared. Not a witness for the older composed profile. |
These extend the earlier unpaired 2009 examples. They do not turn every
author-hosted chart into an oracle for one fixed policy. Reposting scans,
copying large source passages into Git or contacting authors was not required.

Closure and reopening rule
The finite review and admission decision are complete. Keep VED-003's modern implementation locally complete and its remaining source claims bounded. There is no evidence-driven algorithm repair or new public method in this pass.
Reopen classical admission on an identified D60-specific continuous-degree passage or a general law demonstrably applicable to that edition's D60, with explicit sign sequence, parity, endpoints and source-owned numerical evidence. Reopen planetary oracle admission on published paired planetary inputs/outputs with identifiable methods/settings and sufficient precision, covering both natal parities and multiple signs. A rounding rule must be established or comparisons must remain explicitly conditional. New sources may corroborate or contradict the profile; do not adjust fixtures or runtime to force agreement.
The execution receipt records the additional fixtures and documentation verification. Source comparison, computational consistency and predictive validation remain distinct.
