Yes they will be in minecraft now, the ways to cure it are medicines (faster way) and sleeping (slower way), if you insist in mining, fighting and dashing while sick, your disease will get worst, it affects sleep, thirst and healthy bar, some diseases can make you slower, make vision become strange, make you weaker and other stuff. Some medicines to more powerful diseases can provoke some changes to thirst food and sleep bar.
