How To Play

The Left 2 Mine mod follows similar gameplay to the Left 4 Dead series.

Mechanics:

  • To pick up an item from the floor right click on it.
  • Left click fires a gun, right click shoves. Use shoving to get attacking zombies away from you and give yourself space.
  • To help a fallen ally right click on them. You can only help a fallen ally if there are no zombies attacking.
  • By default, F is to toggle flashlight and R is to reload.

There are currently 2 gamemodes this mod offers.

Coop

The coop mode is the default mode of the mod.

Players must make their way through the map killing zombies as they go. The aim is to reach the end of the map alive.

Along the way, there will be items to find and use including one-use items such as grenades like the pipebomb and the molotov. Players must go through the map and find 'saferooms' which act as checkpoints in the map.

Lots of weak common zombies will try and stop the players while rarer but stronger special infected offer greater threat. Panic events can occur which spawn large masses of zombies towards the player.

The mod features an AI director which will ensure the gameplay is different each time the map is played.

To begin the mode the command "/left2mine start [difficulty]" must be used. Usually this would be triggered from a command block in the map.

Survival

The survival mode is a smaller mode which does not require as large of a map to be played.

The survival mode pits players against infinite waves of common and special infected and awards medals based on how long the player can survive.

In order to start this mode 2 commands must be ran. Again, usually this will be triggered from command blocks in the map so the player playing will not need to enter commands manually. First "/left2mine start survival" must be entered. This will put the player into the game and the player can begin preparing. Then after the player has finished preparing "/left2mine panicstart" must be ran to begin the horde onslaught.
