You can rotate the lights either together or one by one to making some simple variations on the lighting.

Creating New Lights

If you hit "shift+A" it will bring up a creation menu. You can select a light preset from here.

It will create the light wherever your cursor is.

You can edit the light settings here :

Editing Lights

Strength

The strength of the light is a bit self explanatory, something to note is that if you are switching between a Point light and a Sun or another light type, it uses different units. This is because Suns put even light over the entire virtual space, with no falloff, while other lights have falloff. Just keep this in mind so if you're switching, know you'll need to play with it!

Angle/Radius

Depending on the light type this slider will say angle or radius. Either way, it effects how soft the shadows are.

It also determines the light’s virtual “size” in reflections. A larger angle/radius will take longer to render

Bounce Settings

Default lights have 1024 bounces or something ridiculously high. We only need 1 or 2. The more bounces, the longer the render and the harder it is to render.

Having no bounces can look a bit boring though!

Cast Shadow

Turning this off means you won't have any shadows being cast- it might help performance but it'll be less realistic and any bounce light will illuminate the inside of meshes such as the skull. image
