Commanding your army (WIP) - The-Fireplace-Minecraft-Mods/Overlord GitHub Wiki
Commanding multiple skeletons at once
To command multiple skeletons at once, you will need to craft an Orders Wand.
1.17 and newer: /images/orders_wand_crafting.png
1.16.5 and 1.15.2: TODO screenshot. Use emerald, with purple dye to the left and below it.
Once crafted, you can right click while holding the wand to open the GUI. Be sure to select which orders you want before sending them out, or it will send out the default orders. Orders and selected squad are saved on the wand, so you won't have to make the same selection again each time you open that wand. To easily save multiple configurations, I recommend making several wands and naming them in an anvil.
Grouping skeletons in to Squads
To get started with squads, right click one of your skeletons or the Orders Wand and go to Select Squad. From the squad selection screen, you have options to select, create, edit, and delete squads. To create a squad, select (None)
then use the create squad button at the bottom left.
Squad creation
There are a few basic requirements to create a squad.
- You must choose a squad name. This does not have to be unique and is only shown to you, the squad owner.
- You must choose a pattern. There are a few pages to pick from, and more will be added in the future.
- You must choose an item. The list of available items to select comes from a few places - your inventory, the current skeleton's inventory and augment (if applicable), and any of your existing squads' items.
- The pattern+item combination must be unique. No other squad, created by you or another player, can have the same one.
The confirm button will be disabled when these requirements are not met, mouse over it to see which requirements are unmet.
The item you choose will not be consumed when making the squad; both the pattern and item chosen are purely decorative with no gameplay impact.
